The textile designers of the early 18th century in England and France are little known. They provide an enormous bank of inspiration for contemporary designers; I particularly like the work of Anna Maria Garthwaite, a British designer who did work for the weaving mills in Spitalfields, England and the Soieries de Lyon in France.

These interpretations are worked in silk and metal threads.
